Indiana betting revenues hit $9m in first month
September handle across the state’s 10 retail sportsbooks came in at $34.5m
Indiana’s first full month of betting has seen its 10 sportsbook operators report revenues of $9m, with an overall handle of $34.5m across the state.
The Caesars-powered Horseshoe Hammond came in first with the highest monthly revenue of $2m, closely followed by Harrah’s Hoosier Park with $1.3m.
Horseshoe Hammond is on the state border with Illinois and 16.4 miles from Chicago.
Football saw the highest concentration of bets with a $21m handle. Parlay bets followed, reporting $10m in state-wide handle.
Baseball and basketball took $3m and $120,101 respectively in bets.
The state launched mobile betting earlier this month with DraftKings and French Lick Casino’s Rush Street Interactive products the first to hit the market.
Operators paid $813,103 in taxes in September.
Neighbouring state Iowa reported betting revenues of $2.2m during its first month of operation in August.
