New Jersey revenues up 35% in October
Online gaming continues to grow in the Garden State with Golden Nugget having a particularly strong monthÂ
The New Jersey egaming market posted another month of solid growth in October with revenue up 35% YoY, according to the latest revenues published by the stateâs Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE). [private]
Gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the period reached $12.9m compared with $9.5m in October 2014, driven by a 45% jump in casino revenue to $11m while poker remained flat (down 3%) at $1.9m.
Borgata, whose brands include partypoker, partycasino and PalaCasino, remained the market leader in terms of gross win with revenues of $3.5m with $1.1m coming from poker and $2.4m from casino.
And while poker remained flat year on year (up 2%), casino increased 9% during the month.
Caesars Interactive, which operates the CaesarsCasino, HarrahsCasino and 888 poker and casino brands, held onto second spot with GGR of $2.9m, up 16% on last year.
Growth was driven by casino, which increase from $1.5m to $2.1m, enough to offset a 9% decline in poker revenues during the period to $0.83m.
Tropicana held on to third spot with GGR of $2.85m up 50% on the last year, while rival Golden Nugget saw revenue increase 170% to $2.7m, thanks in part to contributions from BetfairCasino.com.
Resorts Casino, which entered the market back in February, saw revenues remain flat month on month at $0.9m, but the imminent launch of partners PokerStars and Full Tilt will be a huge boost.
The latest numbers take total GGR to date to $121.6m, 17.6% ahead of last year.
