Scientific Games appoints new CEO in senior management reshuffle
SG Interactive CEO Barry Cottle will take up the reins as CEO and chairman from Kevin Sheehan in June
Scientific Games has appointed Barry Cottle as its new president and CEO as part of a senior management reshuffle.
Cottle will replace current CEO Kevin Sheehan on 1 June, with Sheehan set to remain at the games development firm as a senior advisor.
Cottle is currently the CEO of the corporation’s online division SG Interactive – a position he has occupied since August 2015 having joined from Deluxe Entertainment.
He has also previously worked in senior executive positions for Quickoffice, Electronic Arts and Zynga.

“With the acquisition of NYX and the rapid growth of our entire interactive business, Scientific Games is poised to lead the future as the entire gaming industry transitions to new digital and mobile platforms.

SG’s chairman of the board Ronald o. Perelman said: “Under Barry’s leadership, SG Interactive, now SG Social and SG Digital with the NYX acquisition, has become the market leader in free-to-play and online gaming and is perfectly positioned to capitalise on new markets opening up to legalised online gaming, lottery and sports betting around the world, including the United States.”
Scientific Games also announced that Seagate Technology executive Tim Bucher will join the firm as executive vice president and CPO across all of SG’s business divisions.
