Now in its seventh year, the EGR Power US Rankings remain the industry’s only comprehensive rundown of the largest and most influential B2C online gambling companies operating in America today. This year, though, the list has been slashed in half to reflect the relentless exodus over the past 12 months of tier-two and tier-three brands that were previously forced to feed off scraps in an increasingly consolidated arena and idiosyncratic state-by-state regulation.  

While the cull leaves 10 firms, we feel each one truly warrants being classed a ‘power operator’ given their scale, revenue, and products. To put it another way, this year is all killer, no filler. In fact, the write-ups have been extended so that each company is afforded a whole page detailing progress and newsworthy developments since last year’s edition. Meanwhile, there are four operators on our ‘Ones to watch’ list, as well as a new ‘Industry disruptors’ section highlighting those shaking things up (and ruffling a few feathers) across verticals like DFS+, prediction markets, and sweepstakes.  

Once again, we have called on the services of accounting and auditing heavyweight BDO to delve into the publicly available numbers – as well as KPIs shared privately – to weigh up and compare each operator from a financial standpoint. As well as top- and bottom-line performance, we’ve taken into account new state rollouts, product launches and upgrades, key leadership hires, marketing partnerships, M&A, and more to provide a clearer picture of online gambling’s pecking order in the US.
