BetStars makes DFS play with new jackpot tournament format
Amaya-owned brand says Sports Jackpots will bring some “much needed innovation” to the sports betting market

BetStars has launched a new DFS-style product that combines a simplified version of daily fantasy with jackpot tournaments.
The new product, Sports Jackpots, asks competitors to pick which football player in each of several pre-selected groups will score the most fantasy points that day.
Each fantasy point scored by a player’s selections is totalled and ranked against other users on a leaderboard.
Similar to multi-table poker tournaments, the more participants that enter, the bigger the prize pool grows, with a $1m jackpot available on certain contests for users who pick that day’s top scoring fantasy player in each of the pre-selected groups.
“Football fans will be able to enjoy an added sweat by complementing sportsbook action with BetStars Sports Jackpots,” said Zeno Ossko, managing director of BetStars.
“It’s a fun, quick, and easy way to get the thrill of fantasy sports without having to commit to a whole season.”
The format, which is available on betstarsjackpots.com, was developed in partnership with Amaya’s own DFS brand StarsDraft.
“Our team is excited to work with the fast-growing BetStars brand to further the mission of bringing much needed innovation to the sports betting market,” said Matthew Primeaux, CEO, StarsDraft.
“With BetStars Sports Jackpots, there’s no easier way for punters and casual sports fans alike to turn a small bet into a big win.”
Contests are initially available on the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, as well as the NBA and PGA Tour.
The new product is the latest in a recent flurry of DFS formats introduced in Europe, with Unibet beta-testing its own daily fantasy game, and Paf partnering with Scout Gaming Group to launch a DFS product.
