Net Gaming appoints former Catena Media chief as new CEO
Robert Andersson replaces Marcus Teilman with immediate effect after run of poor financial results
Net Gaming has appointed former Catena Media chief executive Robert Andersson as the firm’s new president and CEO with immediate effect.
Andersson, who had been working as Enlabs CEO since leaving Catena Media, has replaced incumbent Marcus Teilman following 2019’s poor financial return for the Stockholm-based affiliate firm.
Net Gaming saw revenue, EBITDA and post-tax profits all fall sharply in 2019, which Teilman said was “characterised by regulatory effects in the European market.”
In a statement, Net Gaming noted that the decision to appoint Andersson comes as a direct result of the previous year’s failings.
The statement read: “The purpose of the change is to create better conditions for Net Gaming to return to growth while maintaining profitability and generate shareholder value in the short and long term.”
Speaking on Andersson’s arrival, Net Gaming chair Henrik Kvick said: “After a challenging 2019, we are in need of change and new energy. With Robert, we are getting a CEO who has successfully driven growth companies in our industry and built forward-looking and innovative organisations at a fast pace and with high execution power.
“Robert will capitalise on the great potential of lead generation globally and lead the company back to organic growth.”
Andersson, 42, added: “Net Gaming is in an exciting position in a very dynamic market. It will be incredibly exciting to work with the team at Net Gaming to accelerate growth and create the next chapter in Net Gaming.”
Kvick also conveyed his thanks to Teilman: “Marcus has led Net Gaming’s transformation from a small gaming operator to a leading player in lead generation. I and the entire board thank Marcus for his time and great commitment to Net Gaming and wish him all the best in the future.”
