Akamon focuses on mobile with new product strategy
Alex Cohen joins firm as chief product officer as new studio in Israel, dedicated to mobile game development, opens
Social gaming firm Akamon is focusing its new product strategy on the mobile channel following the appointment of a new chief product officer and opening of a new development studio.
Alex Cohen has become Akamonâs new CPO following stints at Quickspin and IGT, and has assumed full responsibility of the firmâs games portfolio and its platform channels.
Cohen will oversee Akamonâs transition to mobile games and reorganise its product portfolio and optimisation, which is to be coordinated with the social casino firmâs new studio, Akamon Israel.
âJoining Akamon, with its unparalleled geographical footprint in Latin America and already large customer base is an exciting new challenge given the tremendous growth in these markets,â Cohen said.
Akamon Israel is the firmâs third office, adding to its headquarters in Barcelona and current development centre in Valencia, and will be tasked with developing slots games designed for mobile devices.
The company has lined-up former 888.com head of product Zvika Alon to head the studio and its staff of 10 developers.
