Why tier-one operators are using EveryMatrix to power their brands

Below is just one of those stories: powering a new era of sports betting in a newly regulated market with the Hungarian National Lottery and its digital brand TippmixPRO. This was one of EveryMatrix’s largest ever projects, involving multiple teams, a bespoke approach and a laser focus on customer-centricity.

Powering a new era of sports betting in Hungary 

Founded in 1991, Szerencsejáték Zrt is Hungary’s state-owned lottery and gaming provider. It has more than 7,700 retail outlets nationwide, offering everything from lottery tickets to sports betting, and has become one of the country’s most important contributors to community, cultural, social, health and sporting initiatives.

When Hungary’s online sports betting market opened to competition in 2023, Szerencsejáték recognised it had an opportunity as well as a challenge. To thrive in this new regulated area, its online brand TippmixPRO needed a modern, compliant and scalable platform capable of meeting strict technical requirements, while also delivering a great experience for Hungarian players.

The challenge: a regulated market – a new era 

Updated legislation set the bar high. The new framework came with major demands around responsible gambling, player protection and data transparency. Any partner would need to demonstrate not only technical prowess but also the ability to navigate complex regulations and deliver tailored solutions for a state-owned operator under heavy scrutiny.

EveryMatrix was one of 27 suppliers to enter the public tender process. After a rigorous, multi-stage procedure, we were awarded the opportunity to power TippmixPRO with an end-to-end digital sportsbook solution. 

The solution: local, compliant and scalable 

Becoming Szerencsejáték’s partner meant going far beyond software. This was a full-scale transformation.

One of the main conditions was that all customer data had to remain within Hungary. To achieve this, we built a brand-new local data centre, complete with more than 100 servers and large volumes of dedicated hardware. 

Responsible gambling was another cornerstone of the project. Working with third-party providers, we integrated robust self-exclusion tools, strict age verification, deposit limits and on-site messaging into the OddsMatrix sportsbook, ensuring full alignment with Hungary’s requirements.

Transparency was equally critical. To meet new reporting obligations, we developed our DataMatrix solution, building a powerful data warehouse that could deliver more than 30 daily compliance reports covering every aspect of player behaviour. These automated reports were triggered at multiple points each day, so regulators had full visibility at all times.

We also handled player integration from the previous supplier, converting and reformatting raw data through a complex script that allowed for seamless integration into our platform, so TippmixPRO could move forward without disruption for its players.

Launching a new chapter 

The new TippmixPRO, powered by EveryMatrix, went live in October 2023. Now, the brand continues to go from strength to strength. Sportsbook coverage extends to more than 120,000 monthly events, while OddsMatrix’s Bet Builder has given players more choice and driven more engagement than ever before. Acquisition and retention were also boosted through bonusing tools, while automated risk management drove efficiency across operations.

What started as a regulatory challenge has turned into a success story that continues to grow as TippmixPRO strengthens its position in Hungary’s newly competitive betting landscape.
