AnonyMind appoints Andy Atha as COO
Former Sky Betting & Gaming head of risk and responsibility joins gambling therapy provider after strong Q4 results
AnonyMind, an organisation offering confidential online treatment for people suffering from gambling problems, has announced the appointment of Andy Atha as chief operating officer following a 600% increase in registrations between Q3 and Q4 2021.Atha joins the gambling therapy provider having previously spent over two and a half years at Sky Betting & Gaming from 2016-2018, where he worked first as head of fraud, payments and real time risk operations and then as the company’s head of risk and responsibility.More recently, Atha has worked as both a freelance consultant specialising in fraud, due diligence, KYC and safer gambling and as the director of operations at Push Doctor, an online medical care platform that works alongside the NHS to connect patients with GPs and other health professionals.Speaking of his new role with AnonyMind, Atha said: “I’m excited to get started as I genuinely believe in what AnonyMind is doing. There is a huge need for easy access to effective treatment that gives people the skills and support they need to cope with their issues.“AnonyMind has built its processes and capacity and has now reached a point where I have a real opportunity as the new COO to increase awareness and funding for its innovative and potentially life-saving problem gambling treatment. I’m leading from the front and can’t wait to meet a long list of gambling and healthcare industry contacts to discuss their pain points and our ability to solve them.”In welcoming Atha to AnonyMind, co-founder, Andy Iddon, added: “Andy will make a perfect captain for our ship.“His insight will help us achieve our mission of supporting as many people as possible in overcoming gambling addiction and poor mental health, especially when the NHS is under so much pressure.”
