Betsson signs front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with Boca Juniors
Swedish heavyweight furthers its Latam presence with sponsorship agreement with iconic Argentine football club
Betsson has signed a deal with Boca Juniors to become the main sponsor of the Argentine Primera División side until the end of 2024.
The firm’s logo will appear on the front of the men’s and women’s first division shirts for all domestic and continental matches from 29 June and will feature for the first time in the upcoming Copa Libertadores group stage match against Monagas on Thursday.
The agreement was signed off on Monday between president of Boca Juniors Jorge Amor Ameal, Betsson Group CEO Jesper Svensson and CCO Ronni Hartvig, as well as Betsson’s country manager for Argentina, Maximiliano Bellio.
As part of the deal, Betsson will bring fans exclusive experiences and collaborate with the club to implement social initiatives in the local community.
Svensson described the new deal as “iconic” and said: “Boca is unquestionably the most esteemed team in South American football. It has been home to legendary players like Diego Maradona, who, alongside other remarkable players, has elevated Boca to an iconic team globally.
“By sponsoring Boca, we are partnering with the most recognised sports brand in Latin America, thereby strengthening our rapid and consistent expansion in the region.”
Hartvig added: “This alliance will mark a significant milestone for Betsson at a regional level. It will accelerate the exposure of our brand throughout Latin America and beyond.
“We are excited to enter into a partnership with a club that transcends borders, boasting of millions of supporters and fans all around the world.”
The partnership was activated on Sunday (25 June) during a testimonial match for Boca legend Juan Román Riquelme at the club’s La Bombonera stadium.
This latest Latam-facing agreement comes a month after the operator became the main sponsor for fellow Primera División side Racing Club.
