Catena Media proposes board of directors reshuffle and new chairman
Affiliate’s nomination committee suggests Erik Flinck be made chairman while reducing number of members from seven to six

Catena Media’s nomination committee has proposed Erik Flinck as the new chairman of the board of directors, which will reduce in numbers from seven to six.
The committee, made up of chairman Nicklas Paulson representing Investment AB Öresund, Marianne Stenberg of Second Swedish National Pension Fund, Martin Zetterlund from Niklas Karlsson, and current Catena Media board chairman Göran Blomberg, also proposed electing Dan Castillo to the board alongside Flinck.
Flinck currently serves as chairman for digital health startup dr HUD and was previously head of Boston Consulting Group Sweden for just under nine years.
He has nearly two decade’s worth of experience in “corporate management, growth and turnarounds”, having served as head of group strategy and M&A for Sandvik AB for over two years.
Castillo has been investing in Catena Media since 2015 and serves on the board of directors for five different companies, including financial research and relations platform Quartr.com.
The nomination board has also put forward for re-election: Øystein Engebretsen, who has been a board member since September 2018 and is currently an investment manager at AB Öresund; Theodore Bergquist, who first joined the board in May 2019 and is CEO of Turbotic AB; co-founder and partner at Eilers & Krejcik Gaming Adam Krejcik; and advisor at Courtside Ventures, Sean Hurley.
Krejcik and Hurley joined the board in May 2020 and December 2023, respectively.
However, current chair and ICA-handlarnas Förbund CEO Göran Blomberg, interim CMO of The Department Esther Teixeira-Boucher, and Anora Group eCommerce and brand director Austin Malcomb have all declined re-election nominations.
Both Teixeira-Boucher and Malcomb joined the board in May 2021, with Blomberg joining the year prior.
Further proposals for board members by the nomination committee will be presented on 15 May 2024 at the company’s annual general meeting (AGM).
Catena Media recently underwent a change following the resignation of CEO Michael Daly at the end of February. He has been replaced by VP of corporate strategy Pierre Cadena on an interim basis.
Manuel Stan will join the affiliate as its new permanent CEO from 1 July.
