EPIC Risk Management adds research expertise with new hire
Former Marie Curie impact and evaluation officer Dr Donna Nicholas joins consultancy in newly created role

EPIC Risk Management has appointed Dr Donna Nicholas to the newly created role of research manager with immediate effect.
Nicholas has previously worked in research-related roles with UK Cycling and cancer prevention charity Marie Curie.
In her new role, Nicholas will provide research and evaluation expertise to EPIC Risk Management’s operational staff and develop effective research and evaluation strategies to support the company’s wider strategic goals and objectives.
She will report to EPIC Risk Management director of operations Pete Wallis.
“EPIC has been conducting innovative and effective work across a wide range of sectors for several years,” Wallis said. “We are now at the stage in our growth where we feel we have the experience to contribute to the wider gambling-related harm research agenda more strategically.
“Dr Nicholas’ addition to our team is a significant one for us in that regard and we are delighted to be able to call upon someone with her expertise and experience in the field of research,” he added.
Earlier this month, the responsible gambling-led consultancy launched a harmful gambling terminology and online account management tools online survey.
The survey targets those affected by gambling-related harm and those who provide professional support to those in recovery.
It will look to obtain their views on the terminology they prefer and what (if any) types of online account management tools they believe may be helpful to reduce harmful gambling behaviours.
The aim of the survey is to help inform and develop EPIC’s projects in gambling harm prevention.
