EPIC Risk Management inks RecoverMe partnership
Gambling education and training body to include health app in training resources

EPIC Risk Management has agreed a support and education-led partnership with the developers of mobile health and gambling addiction treatment app RecoverMe.
The collaboration will see RecoverMe being used as part of EPIC Risk Management’s educational programmes to support individuals who may be at risk or already suffering from a gambling addiction.
The app, which is available on mobile, aims to support problem gamblers by encouraging them to seek help and providing a discrete option for support.
The app includes several CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) functions and encourages changes in behaviour among at-risk players through periods of self-reflection, mindfulness and self-help exercises.
RecoverMe was developed by three junior doctors who were inspired to create the app based on their experiences of dealing with individuals enduring gambling-related harm.
“By joining forces, we hope to increase the awareness around this addiction, reduce the stigma associated and offer individuals management tools such as RecoverMe that will be beneficial in their journey of recovery,” RecoverMe co-founder Dr Minal Jain said.
“Collectively, we can provide education, prevention and management support within organisations where there is a higher prevalence of problematic gambling, highlighting the need for all three of these fundamental components going forward,” she added.
The app has previously attracted investment from Premier League side Southampton.
