Flutter International senior director shifts to Singular B2B division as MD
Phil Garner joins supplier to drive growth and improve player experience after more than three years across operator’s international arm in various tech roles

Flutter Entertainment’s tech subsidiary, Singular, has appointed Phil Garner as its new managing director (MD) after a lengthy career with the supplier’s parent company.
Garner joins the software development firm and replaces co-founder George Shamugia as the front-line head of the Flutter division.
Garner’s entry into the igaming sector came when he joined Camelot in September 2015 as a lead DevOps engineer before joining Sky Betting & Gaming in February 2016 in the same role.
In June 2017, he became head of core platform with the operator before being made head of technology of bet trading eight months later.
After 12 months, Garner shifted to The Stars Group parent company in March 2019 as head of technical operations for group sports and trading platforms.
While he was with the company, Flutter bought The Stars Group in May 2020 – two months after Garner became associate director of technical operations and service for group sports and trading platforms.
January 2021 saw Garner move over to Flutter’s international arm as associate director of technology for six months before being promoted to director of site reliability engineering six months later.
Garner was then named director of infrastructure and platform services in December 2021 before taking on his final role with the firm as senior director of infrastructure and platform services in October 2022.
Flutter acquired Singular in September 2021 in an all-share deal. The B2B supplier had previously served as a software partner for Flutter’s Adjarabet brand.
Darko Gacov, Singular’s co-founder and director of operations, said Garner’s industry experience would be key to the division’s future success.
Gacov remarked: “We are thrilled to welcome Phil as the new managing director. His extensive industry experience and profound understanding of our products will support Singular in leveraging our technology to further drive growth to the whole group and to provide an even better player experience for the brands we support.”
Upon his arrival, Garner, who had experience in the IT and tech industry before joining Camelot in 2015, stressed he was keen to strengthen Singular’s position in the industry.
He said: “It is an honour to take on the role of managing director at Singular and build upon the foundational and continued success.
“Singular has tremendous potential in powering high-growth markets as part of the Flutter Group and I look forward to working closely with my team as we continue to deliver growth at an accelerated pace and reinforce Singular’s position as tech leader in the sports betting and gaming industry.”
