Flutter UK&I tech evolution director shifts to International arm
Long-serving SBG head Michael Maibaum to lead platform technology for international brands in new role
Flutter Entertainment UK and Ireland technology evolution director Michael Maibaum has swapped the division to join the London-listed operator’s International arm.
Maibaum has been appointed as MD of platform technology for Flutter International, which includes the recently acquired Italian gambling company Sisal and its Australian Ladbrokes business.
Maibaum boasts and extensive CV on the tech side of the industry, having originally joined Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG) in February 2012 as a solutions architect.
He was named as principal architect in April 2014 before being promoted to chief architect in August 2015.
Following Flutter’s acquisition of The Stars Group (TSG), Maibaum briefly served as group deputy chief architect for the brand as he supported the post-merger integration and transformation programmes.
Maibaum swapped SBG for Flutter UK&I in December 2020 to become technology evolution director, where he oversaw technology strategy, operating model and establishing post-M&A integration strategies.
In this role, Maibaum was responsible for around 2,000 technologists in locations across Europe.
Touching on his decision to swap to a new part of the business, Maibaum said: “[It is] time for a change, moving to another part of the Flutter world. I’m leaving the UK&I division for a new position in the International division as MD of platform technology. New stuff to do.”
