GVC promotes from within as new COO leads senior reshuffle
Technology hotshot Sandeep Tiku steps into Shay Segev’s recently vacated chief operating officer position
New GVC boss Shay Segev has wasted no time in implementing his own senior management team as chief technology officer Sandeep Tiku steps up to fill the COO position.
Tiku joined the London-listed operator as IT director in 2014 before becoming CTO in 2016. He previously spent 14 years at global digital agency Valtech.
During his time at GVC, Tiku has taken the lead on key technology and platform programmes across the operator’s proprietary gaming platform.
His role in the now-complete migration of the acquired Ladbrokes Coral business has been described as “pivotal”. A search for a new CTO is already underway, according to GVC.

Segev said of the appointment: “I am delighted to be promoting GVC talent. Sandeep brings unparalleled experience and insight to the role of COO.
“We are first and foremost a technology business and this is at the heart of what we do – supporting customer services, trading, product and our people.
“It therefore makes sense for him to take on this broader role. His leadership of our technology strategy and teams, combined with his knowledge of our legacy stack and proven results through our integrations, means that he is the right person for the job,” he added.
Elsewhere, GVC integration director Marc Lange has been promoted to chief of staff to the CEO, while GVC retail MD Andy Hicks has joined the senior leadership team, reporting directly in to Segev.
Segev last week unveiled his five-point plan to drive growth at GVC after taking over from Kenny Alexander.
