Sky Bet strikes industry-first with Apple Pay
Operator understood to be the first to integrate the mobile payment service in a boost to the customer onboarding process
Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) has become one of the first online gambling brands to add Apple Pay to its list of approved payment methods as the operator continues to ramp up its mobile capabilities.
Apple Pay was integrated into the Leeds-based firm’s Sky Bet, Vegas Casino and Bingo apps earlier this month to make it quicker and easier for iOS customers to deposit funds into their account.
The feature requires customers to already have Apple Pay set up on their iPhone or iPad and via the Quick Deposit section of the mobile app, players can use their Touch ID to deposit funds faster.
SB&G is understood to be the first operator to add Apple Pay to the firm’s mobile products in what is the latest of a long-list of industry-firsts on mobile for the company.

Betfair unveils upgrades to cash out and Exchange layout
Betfair has announced a number of upgrades to its Exchange interface and live cash out function, as the operator continues its focus on product following its merger with Paddy Power.
The firm made the changes to its Exchange cash out system for all non-racing sports last week, with the other improvements to the interface set to follow in “the coming months”.
The company said it had changed its cash-out pricing algorithm in an effort to improve the number of cash out attempts that are successful.

Sky Bingo rebrands with multi-million pound marketing push
Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) is overhauling its Sky Bingo brand and launching a multi-million pound marketing campaign, as the operator makes its largest ever investment into the vertical.
The rebrand follows a six-month research project which will culminate in the addition of visual enhancements to the Sky Bingo website, as well as new product developments and exclusive game releases.
The revamped site will be backed by a multi-channel marketing push under the new âExpect Excitement’ strapline – a campaign developed in partnership with Leicester-based creative agency BigDog.

Marathonbet unveils Manchester United branded live casino
Marathonbet has leveraged its partnership with Manchester United to launch one of the first live casino products branded by a Premier League club.
The new Man Utd-themed room offers live roulette with a backdrop of the club’s famous Old Trafford stadium.
Live blackjack will be introduced for UK players later this year, while a Russian-speaking blackjack table is already on offer by the Panbet-owned brand.
“Our aim is to offer an immersive environment where players can enjoy online Live Roulette while having the feel of being part of Manchester United,” Christian Melin, Marathonbet’s head of gaming R&D, said.

Betfair launches first cash out roulette
Betfair has launched a new version of roulette that allows punters to create side markets over a set number of spins and then cash these bets out when they choose.
The product means a player could, for example, bet on 10 reds to come up in the next 15 spins and then cash out for a profit if five came up in the first five spins.
The feature can be used as a side bet with players still spinning the wheel and betting normally, or it can be the main focus of the game.

Betsson unveils new âAnytime’s Playtime’ creative concept
Betsson has announced a refresh to its flagship betsson.com brand, backed by a new TV ad campaign and creative concept.
The campaign centres around a new tagline, âAnytime’s Playtime’, and is intended to reflect the “spontaneity of play” and “element of fun” that Betsson says is at the heart of its products.
According to a statement from the Swedish firm, the concept will appeal to a more mainstream consumer by focusing on everyday people who find the time to play in ordinary situations.

Metric Gaming to power Russian online sportsbook
Moscow-based bookmaker Sportbet has selected Metric Gaming to provide a full sportsbook for its online and retail channels.
Under the terms of the agreement, Metric will provide traditional pre-game sportsbook content as well as its SuperLive in-game platform.
The sportsbook will be initially rolled out in Sportbet’s retail shops, but the firm is “advanced” in the process of securing a licence to offer online betting as well.
The retail launching is likely to be before end of the year, while Metric refused to put a timeline on the online process.

Betclic unveils Portuguese online casino
Betclic has launched an online casino product to sit alongside its sportsbook in the Portuguese regulated online gambling market.
The France-headquartered brand was awarded a casino licence by Portuguese regulator SRIJ earlier this month and went live with the product last week.
The new casino, which has been integrated into the betclic.pt site, currently boasts games from Swedish developer Thunderkick, with plans to add content from more providers soon, including iSoftBet.

BetBright launches mobile-only bonus acca feature
BetBright has launched a new mobile-only feature which provides customers with a free bonus leg when placing an accumulator with the chance to win up to £500.
Acca +1 pops up when an accumulator of four or more selections is placed with a minimum odds of 7/1.
Selections can be made on a variety of outcomes, including outright winners, both teams to score (BTTS) and anytime goalscorers.
The feature then invites the user to place a bonus free selection to the bet, and if both the acca and bonus +1 leg wins, the user wins a maximum bonus payout of £500 paid in cash.

Betfred secures Super League title sponsorship deal
Betfred has signed a three-year deal to become the new title sponsor of rugby league’s Super League competition in a major marketing scoop for the UK bookmaker.
The agreement will see Betfred replace UK gas and electricity supplier, First Utility, as the headline sponsor of rugby league’s prestigious professional club competition from 2017 until 2019.
“Next year will be Betfred’s 50th birthday and what better way to celebrate than by becoming title sponsor of the Betfred Super League,” the bookmaker’s owner and co-founder, Fred Done, said.

BetVictor launches weekly version of Million Pound Goal
BetVictor has launched a follow-up to its successful Euro 2016 Million Pound Goal promotion with a new weekly game called Golden Goal.
Like its predecessor, Golden Goal asks punters to correctly predict the minute and scorer of the opening goal in a pre-selected match, which will usually be the late televised kick-off on a Sunday afternoon.
