DUBAI-owned airline Emirates will take over from Bwin as shirt sponsor of football club AC Milan, the club has revealed. Bwin was AC Milan's sponsor since 2006. Emirates' 60m (£52m, $82m) four-year deal will begin in July, adding the Italian club to its roster of European football spoinsorships that includes the teams Arsenal, Hamburg and Paris Saint Germain. Bwin extended its sponsorship of Spain's Real Madrid in September last year.

UK ‘low stake high volume’ gaming company Praesepe has placed shares intended to raise £6m to “pursue acquisition opportunities in UK and Europe that are in advanced stages of negotiation.” The conditional placing values the 80,000,000 new Ordinary Shares at an issue price of 7.5p each.
EurosportBet is to launch the first French Heads-Up Poker Championship on 16-17 March at The Evian Casino. The tournament will be broadcast in April on TV channel Eurosport, which shows in 59 countries in Europe.
Paddy Power chief executive Patrick Kennedy has voiced his frustration at a succession of public pronouncements from Horse Racing Ireland on its ambition for the sport to be “self funding” through a tax on betting turnover to combat huge cuts in government funding. In a letter to The Irish Racing Post newspaper, Kennedy questions whether taxpayers money has been well spent by HRI and goes on to criticise HRI chairman Denis Brosnan for a “plainly untrue” statement that the funding problems are due to most betting now being done through internet and offshore operators.
