Oddsgate names former Sportingtech boss as CEO
Industry veteran Tiago Almeida takes the reigns at Portuguese supplier with aims of becoming “leading global technology partners”
White-label solutions supplier Oddsgate has named former Sportingtech and Nossa Aposta boss Tiago Almeida as its new CEO.
Almeida was one of the original co-founders of the Portugal-based supplier and will now head up the business having departed Nossa Aposta in May.
The new Oddsgate exec boasts a wealth of experience in the sector, having joined Malta-based operator FantasticWin as a senior territory manager in June 2010, where he focused on the Brazilian market.
Almeida spent more than five-and-a-half years with the firm before joining Sportingtech as CEO.
While with the supplier, he started sportsbook and casino operator Betzest in June 2017 alongside Marius Filip, before leaving at the end of 2019.
A move to Nossa Apsota materialised in May 2021, where he became CEO. Alongside his position at the Portuguese brand, Almeida became a partner in Egamingservices in March 2016.
Oddsgate was founded in 2021 by Almeida, Mickael Shahinyan and Mario Silva and offers both white label and turnkey solutions across various verticals.
The business is also on a recruitment drive, with job postings on its website calling for a chief commercial officer and a chief security officer, alongside a series of marketing and business development roles.
Pedro de Matos, who previously spent time with Aristocrat and iSoftBet, joined as CFO in April.
Chief marketing officer Wagner Fernandes was onboarded in August 2023 after Oddsgate added Lusia Barseghyan as director of gaming operations in March that year.
Taking to LinkedIn, Almeida said the opportunity to take on the CEO role with Oddsgate was an “honour and a thrilling opportunity”.
He wrote: “My deep connection to Brazil and dedication to the market drove the launch of Oddsgate in 2021 with my partners.
“Today, Oddsgate offers immense opportunities alongside challenges. We are committed to helping operators launch or grow their igaming ventures with the best solutions and services.
“We aim to be elite wagering operators’ leading global technology partners, enhancing secure, engaging and responsible experiences in regulated markets.”
He added: “With my executive team, I aim to set new standards in the igaming industry, ensuring smooth operations, regulatory compliance and exceptional partner support. I’m excited to work with the talented team at Oddsgate and our global partners.”
