OpenBet makes Greek tech centre acquisition
Sportsbook and gaming software supplier increases headcount by 25% with acquisition of previously outsourced Greek operation
OpenBet has boosted its headcount by 25% with the acquisition of its previously outsourced Greek product development arm from Athens Technology Centre.
The sportsbook and gaming software supplier said the additional employees would be focused on product development and offer its customers “additional flexibility to support their expansion plans”.
“This deal concludes the plan originally set out; to provide a market-leading development resource that is immediately scalable and supports OpenBet’s need to efficiently recruit the right level of talent,” OpenBet CEO Jeremy Thompson-Hill, said.
“Achieving this in more established geographies is becoming increasingly challenging, so this acquisition will give us a significant advantage in continuing to serve customers effectively.
“We have an ambitious plan for growth and we are proud to have secured such a fantastic addition to our team to continue to work alongside our other international offices,” he added.
The acquisition comes just weeks after OpenBet announced it was looking to grow its employee headcount by around 10% to further the development of its omni-channel product offering.
In January OpenBet revealed it had seen double-digit revenue growth during the first half of its 2014-15 financial year.
