
Optimove acquires mobile marketing specialist Kumulos
CRM firm bolsters capabilities with addition of Scottish company to its ranks


Optimove has acquired personalised messaging mobile marketing firm Kumulos in an undisclosed deal.
Via the deal, Optimove will bolster
its AI engine, as well as adding native mobile capabilities for its marketing channels.
The CRM firm said the addition of Scotland-based Kumulos would improve its efforts across mobile and web push messaging, in-app messaging and its geofencing and beaconing technology.
Kumulos co-founders Bob Lawson and Mark Petrie will take on new roles at the combined company.
Lawson will assume the role of director of mobile offering while Petrie has been appointed director of engineering for mobile services.
Pini Yakuel, Optimove CEO, said: “To support our next stage of growth, we will continue to add expanded capabilities to help marketers reach customers in many different ways.
“We already do this in email and Kumulos was a natural fit to offer this across mobile marketing as they provide an easy way to build out sophisticated mobile and web campaigns,” he added.
In September 2021, Optimove secured $75m in a funding round which the company said would be used to accelerate it M&A and hiring strategies.
Since then, Optimove has increased its workforce to 340 employees and confirmed its intention to invest in a R&D centre in Scotland.
