The eighth iteration of the EGR Power US Rankings remains the industry’s only comprehensive countdown of the most powerful and influential B2C online gambling firms operating in America right now. Like last year, the list we have compiled alongside BDO features 10 companies, which we feel is a fair reflection of market dynamics in the US given the wave of exits over the past few years.  

Survival of the fittest has thinned out the field, though the past 12 months has seen most online operators in the EGR Power US Rankings become revenue-generating machines that are now generating profits, much to the delight of shareholders. Their respective products are right up there – if not ahead of – any of the best sportsbooks and casinos found in other parts of the world, while some of the industry’s finest talent now work for these US companies. Challenges remain, of course, with prediction markets having the potential to upend online sports betting, yet that’s not stopped some operators on our list from throwing their hats into the ring with sports event contracts. Time will tell how this all plays out.  

As in previous years, we enlisted the services of accounting and auditing giant BDO to crunch the numbers – both public and those supplied confidentially – to assess the strength of each operator from a financial perspective. Besides earnings and other KPIs, we have taken into account expansion into new states, product launches, sponsorship deals, key hires, M&A, and more to better weigh up the US online gambling industry’s hierarchy.
