Lottoland appoints 888's Lucky Multani as COO
Bet-on-lottery operator strengthens senior team with hire of 888's VP of risk and regulatory operations
Lottoland has made its second senior hire in as many months after appointing Lucky Multani (pictured) as its new chief operating officer.
Multani has joined Lottoland’s Gibraltar-based team from 888 where he spent 16 years, more recently as the operator’s VP of risk and regulatory operations, a position which saw him lead teams in New Jersey, Antigua and Gibraltar.
In his role as COO at Lottoland, Multani’s primary responsibility will cover fraud, payments, legal and compliance aspects of the bet-on-lottery firm’s business, while he will also be involved with the development of technology strategy.
Multani said he was excited to be joining the rapidly growing Lottoland, a firm which launched just two-and-a-half years ago but has already accumulated more than two million customers.
“Lottoland has achieved a great deal in a short space of time and opened up a new category of online gaming through an innovative approach to betting on lotteries,” Multani said.
“It has a great future ahead and I am really looking forward to helping to ensure that it remains at the top of this new fast-moving and exciting online gaming category.”
The hire of Multani comes after Lottoland last month appointed Glen Bullen as VP of Lottoland Solutions, the firm’s new B2B arm.
Meanwhile on Monday night Lottoland scooped two prizes at the eGR Operator Awards in London.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have won two awards at the prestigious eGR Operator Awards; Rising Star of the Year and Alternative Operator of the Year,” Nigel Birrell, Lottoland chief executive, said.
“It is hugely rewarding for Lottoland to be recognised by its industry peers and testament to the hard work and dedication from everyone involved which has helped to make Lottoland such a resounding success,” he added.
