Parx hires Matthew Cullen for online gaming push
Industry veteran joins as casino’s SVP of interactive gaming and sports
Parx Casino has hired industry veteran Matthew Cullen to lead its online gaming efforts in Pennsylvania.
Cullen, formerly the CEO of San Manuel Digital, was announced this week as the casino’s senior vice president of interactive gaming and sports.
“Matthew is joining the Parx Casino team at a very exciting time for our company,” said Parx chief technology officer John Dixon.
“With online gaming and sports betting on the near horizon, Parx Casino is perfectly positioned to offer our guests the absolute best gaming and entertainment experience anywhere in the region.
“Matthew’s unique professional pedigree of online gaming, corporate development, marketing, product and business strategy, and digital technology, makes him an ideal person to lead our expanding business footprint.”
Before San Manuel, Cullen was president of RocketPlay, now PlayAGS (AGS), and vice-president of US new ventures at Paddy Power Betfair.
He will lead the launch of an online gaming platform for Parx, which has partnered with GAN for a casino and sports betting platform.
Parx was one of nine casinos to apply for a license in all three online gaming verticals, at the cost of $10m.
Dixon said of the upcoming launch: “GAN has demonstrated its regulated gaming capability in New Jersey and the merits of integrating with a casino management system.”
