Sporttrade launches sports betting offering in Virginia
Operator establishes a presence in its fifth US state as its iOS app goes live in the Old Dominion, with Android offering to follow later this year
Sporttrade has today, October 24, launched its mobile sports betting app for iOS users in Virginia.
Players in the Old Dominion will be able to place bets on the iOS app immediately, with the operator planning to launch an Android version later this year.
Virginia becomes the fifth US state which Sporttrade has launched in, following on from New Jersey, Iowa, Colorado, and Arizona.
Sporttrade works as a sports betting exchange which provides stock trading-style options to its sports betting customers.
The Philadelphia-based platform first gained access to the Colorado market in 2021 through its acquisition of Momentum Sports, before launching in New Jersey in 2022.
The firm struck up a deal to enter the Arizona market back in August in partnership with the Quechan Indian Tribe of the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation.
Sporttrade founder and CEO Alex Kane said: “We are incredibly proud to keep the fall 2024 momentum going with our launch in the Commonwealth.
“There is an appetite for premium betting in Virginia, for significantly better prices at higher limits, for instant in-play betting, and a mobile experience that’s sleek and intuitive.“
Kane added: “Sporttrade is becoming the home of in-game betting, where players are able to place and cash out of bets, frictionlessly, as the probabilities shift.
“Thank you to the Virginia Lottery, thank you to our players, partners, and investors, and most of all, I want to thank the Sporttrade family of employees.”
Earlier this month, Sporttrade entered into a strategic investment partnership with SIG Sports Investments which will see the latter’s SIGSports Analytics division will be provide additional liquidity to Sporttrade’s key markets.
