Slots Tracker: US and Canada status quo at the top continues
White Hat Gaming’s Almighty Buffalo Megaways holds steady at the top in the US while GameBurger Studios’ 9 Masks of Fire continues to lead the Canadian chart
White Hat Gaming’s Almighty Buffalo Megaways retained its top spot in the January US casino slot rankings, while GameBurger Studios’ 9 Masks of Fire remained the game to beat Canada.
Almighty Buffalo Megaways has been ranked first since November, while 9 Masks of Fire took top spot in October and has been there ever since.
In January’s US rankings, IGT’s Fortune Coin held on to its second-place position, while IGT’s Cash Eruption and NetEnt’s Divine Fortune switched places to third and fourth respectively.
ReelPlay’s Hypernova Megaways was ranked fifth again, but there were significant changes for those now in sixth and seventh place.
Light & Wonder’s Ultimate Fire Link Cash Falls China Street jumped 17 spots, from 23rd to sixth place, while White Hat Gaming’s Big Catch Bass Fishing moved up a whopping 234 places from last month to finish in seventh spot in Janaury.
Another big mover in January was Light & Wonder’s Jewel of the Dragon: A Thousand Warriors, which was ranked 215th in December and now takes 11th position.
DGC’s Blazing Bison Gold was the final new entrant in the top 20, landing in 18th place from 47th at the end of 2023.
The biggest slot to drop in the top 20 was Shuffle Master’s 88 Fortunes, from seventh in December to 13th place in January.
The highest-ranking slot in December to fall out of the top 20 was White Hat Gaming’s Saint Nicked Jackpot Royale (10th).
Rounding out the US January rankings in 20th spot was Lightning Box’s Money Link The Great Immortals.
In Canada, with 9 Masks of Fire held on firmly to top spot for the third consecutive month, there was however a new game in second place with Fortune Factory Studios’ Gold Blitz Extreme jumping up from 11th place to reach a podium position.
Pragmatic Play games rounded out the remainder of the top six spots, with Sweet Bonanza moving from second to third place, Gates of Olympus remaining in fourth spot, and Big Bass Bonanza dropping two spots to fifth position.
Wolf Gold moved up from ninth in December to finish sixth in January.
There were seven new entries into the top 20 rankings in January, including Alchemy Gaming’s Chronicles of Olympus II Zeus which was ranked 10th from 32nd spot in December, while Foxium’s Rome Fight for Gold Deluxe had the biggest jump this month, from 75th spot to 11th.
Pragmatic Play’s Buffalo King Megaways ranked 13th in January from 26th in December, Fortune Factory Studios’ Gold Blitz held 28th spot in December and leapt to 14th in January, and Triple Edge Gaming’s Fire and Roses Joker jumped 10 spots from 25th place to 15th.
The final two new entrants were Snowborn Games’ Massive Gold, taking 16th spot in January from 24th place in December, and IGT’s Cleopatra which rose 11 spots from 30th to 19th.
As for the slot to suffer the biggest drop in the rankings this January, Sugar Rush by Pragmatic Play fell eight spots to place 20th.
In significant news, Play’n GO’s Book of Dead which landed in fifth in December dropped out of the top 20 completely.
For the US January rankings, EGR’s data partner, eGaming Monitor (EGM) examined 2,808 games from 146 studios across 51 sites and from six states.
For the Canadian January rankings, EGM looked at 3,503 games from 186 studios across 70 sites and from five provinces.
