ALT Sports Data names industry newcomer as EVP of operations and finance
Tom Chapman joins the sports data and analytics solutions provider in the wake of the recent $2.5m seed funding round
ALT Sports Data has appointed Tom Chapman as the group’s new executive vice-president (EVP) of operations and finance.
In his new role, Chapman will be responsible for overseeing planning, communication, and processes and enable the delivery of the firm’s solutions and services to its partners.
Chapman joins the California-based business after a nine-year stint with e-learning provider Lumen Learning, where he held several roles, starting as CFO in October 2014.
He was then made chief revenue officer in January 2018, before stepping up to become COO in August 2021. He departed the company in November 2023.
Before his time at Lumen Learning, Chapman spent over eight years as CFO and VP of business development at software development firm OneCampus from June 2005 to August 2013.
He also held roles at the Integration Consulting Group, Manschot Opportunity Fund, and Rural/Metro Corporation.
The hiring of Chapman comes two months after ALT Sports Data secured $2.5m in a seed funding round.
The funding round was co-led by Eberg Capital and Relay Ventures, with the capital set to be deployed to “efficiently scale the business.”
