BetPARX SVP of igaming and sports departs after five years
Matthew Cullen calls time on spell with Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment-owned brand as he praises growth of business and staff
BetPARX senior vice-president of igaming and sports Matthew Cullen has departed the operator after more than five years of service.
Cullen has led the business, which is the online brand of Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment that runs the Parx Casino, since July 2018 after joining from Rock Sports & Gaming Advisors.
He previously spent time as the CEO of San Manuel Digital, the digital arm of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, and as president of social casino RocketPlay.
The exec also had a two-year spell with Flutter (then Paddy Power Betfair) as VP of business development and strategy between 2009 and 2011 as the operator looked to explore opportunities in the US.
Since moving to betPARX, Cullen has overseen market launches in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan, Maryland, and Ohio.
Taking to LinkedIn, Cullen said that under his leadership the brand has grown to more than 140 staff and generated more than $100m in revenue since launch.
Cullen, who was betPARX’s first-ever employee, described the business as “punching above its weight” as he reflected on his time with the company.
He said: “This success would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication, passion, and hard work of the incredible team at betPARX. To each member of the team, I extend my deepest gratitude.
“Your commitment to excellence has been the driving force behind our growth and, together, we’ve built a world-class organization and a thriving interactive gaming business.
“As I begin to evaluate new opportunities, I’m confident that betPARX will continue to thrive. I am immensely proud of what we’ve achieved together and I look forward to witnessing the continued success of betPARX in the future,” he added.
