Catena Media has launched online sports betting affiliate marketing in Kentucky following the market launch on September 28.
The affiliate has noted that there has been a positive start to player signups in the Bluegrass State.
Catena Media said the brands driving the initial success were LegalSportsReport.com, GamingToday.com, TheLines.com, and Lineups.com.
Catena Media also stated that its media partnership with The Sporting News was a key driver in its positive start in Kentucky.
The launch in Kentucky took the number of US states and Canadian provinces that Catena is live in to 27.
Ryan Harper, VP for North America at Catena Media, said: “We’re pleased to see a successful start to legal sports betting in Kentucky.
“Player registrations on our sites matched our expectations, and we anticipate continued progress as more people discover the benefits of safe, regulated online sports betting.”
Online sports betting in Kentucky launched on September 28, which brought to an end a six-month-long process of legalization, licensing and regulating the vertical.
Seven operators are licensed to operate in the online space in Kentucky. Those operators are bet365, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, and Barstool Sportsbook, which will rebrand to ESPN Bet at some point this year.
This market launch came three weeks after retail sports betting started in Kentucky, with state authorities revealing that $4.5m in bets were placed in the first two weekends following the go-live date.
