The firm said the deal will further advance the level of competition offered by Kountermove, while accelerating player engagement with combat sports.
âThe Kountermove team has built a tremendous product with an enthusiastic fan base and weâre excited to grow with them,â Matt Kalish, DraftKings chief revenue officer, said.
DraftKings first started offering contents on MMA a little over a year ago, with the operator striking a marketing deal with the UFC to coincide with the launch.
While MMA is at the core of Kountermoveâs product offering, the site also run contests on boxing, kick-boxing and jiu jitsu, allowing DraftKings to expand into those markets as well.
DraftKingsâ decision to offer contests on more niche sports has set the firm apart from fierce rival FanDuel, which has focused more on traditional sports such as NFL, NBA and MLB.
DraftKings, however, offers contests on sports such as NASCAR, WWE, eSports and golf.
The news comes after the Boston-based operator finally entered the UK market last week having delayed its launch twice over concerns its product was not up to scratch.
