Everi CEO Rumbolz named new chairman of American Gaming Association
Longtime casino and gaming industry executive succeeds Hard Rock International chairman Allen
The American Gaming Association (AGA) has a new incoming chairman, as Everi CEO Michael Rumbolz has officially been appointed to the role by the AGA’s board of directors.
Rumbolz is set to succeed Hard Rock International chairman and Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen, who’s served in the position since January 2022.
“It’s an honor to welcome Mike – an industry legend in his own right – as the next AGA chairman,” said AGA president and CEO Bill Miller. “Mike’s career as an operator, manufacturer and regulator is unparalleled and will be vital to driving meaningful progress on industry priorities.”
“I am grateful for the opportunity to help shape gaming’s future as the AGA’s next chair,” added Rumbolz. “From stopping illegal gambling to evolving responsible gambling, the AGA is tackling transformational issues and I am eager to build on the progress made during Jim’s tenure.”
Rumbolz is a seasoned casino and gaming executive, having spent 45 years in all facets of the industry, from gaming equipment manufacturing and distribution to hotel and casino operations, casino fintech and online gaming.
He also has a significant background on the legislative and regulatory side, as he served as both a board member and ultimately chair of the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) as well as the state’s chief deputy attorney general.
Rumbolz will be taking over for Allen, who helped navigate the gaming industry’s extended pandemic recovery while spearheading the AGA’s responsible gambling (RG) initiatives, in addition to its ongoing efforts to curb illegal gambling.
“Our industry and this association have never been stronger. I am immensely proud of our success over the last two years accelerating gaming’s recovery while defining and advancing new priorities,” said Allen. “The AGA is well-positioned under Mike and Bill’s leadership.”
Rumbolz will formally begin his two-year term in January.
