FanDuel signs MLB agreement to enhance in-play offering
Partnership is similar to MLB’s deals with DraftKings and MGM as operator signs on as authorized betting partner
FanDuel has signed a multi-year deal with Major League Baseball to allow it access to official league data and display MLB branding across its product offering.
With the use of official data the operator plans to enhance its in-play offering, which accounts for over 50% of its betting business.
President and COO at FanDuel Kip Levin said: “Fantasy sports and sports betting have become a national pastime in their own right, so it’s natural to join forces with Major League Baseball.
“LB clearly understands how working together can be beneficial for baseball fans and both companies alike,” Levin said.
Kenny Gersh, MLB executive vice president, gaming and new business ventures, said: “Having access to our official sports betting data feeds and MLB brands, we’re looking forward to the creative sports betting and fan experience innovations FanDuel will develop.
“[It] has proven itself to be a leader in the sports betting space and has shifted a step ahead again through its commitment to, and recognition of, the value in being an authorized gaming operator,” Gersh added.
The deal is FanDuel’s first within the MLB. The league has similar arrangements in place with DraftKings and MGM.
