HotTakes hires former GeoComply director as fractional CTO
Xavier Raffin joins the F2P prediction platform as the company continues its expansion across North America

F2P prediction platform HotTakes has appointed Xavier Raffin as the company’s new fractional chief technology officer (CTO).
He takes up the position previously held by company founder and CEO Tyler Amirault, who stepped back from the role as the company looked to expand its senior team.
Raffin comes with CTO experience, having filled the role for technology platform Visualping from January 2021 to June 2022.
Most recently, Raffin served as director of DevOps and architecture at GeoComply from January 2023 to March 2024.
Prior to a three-year stint at Amazon Web Services as a senior solutions architect from June 2018 to January 2021, Raffin amassed significant software engineering and development experience.
He worked as a software architect at Tisséo for six years between 2010 and 2016, before taking a chief software architect role at Sigfox from May 2016 to June 2017.
Raffin also held a senior software engineer role at Airbus Group from November 2008 to July 2010.
Speaking on LinkdeIn, a HotTakes spokesperson said: “With a wealth of experience from startups to large companies, Xavier brings expertise in software engineering, team leadership, and strategic vision.”
Raffin himself expressed that he was “happy to be part of the adventure” at HotTakes.
Earlier this month, HotTakes secured an undisclosed additional investment from Edinburgh-based gamification firm Incentive Games as the firm looks to expand across the US during the remainder of 2024.
