Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission appoints Tina Eick as administrator following interim period
Eick takes the post on a permanent basis following a two-month interim period after Brian Ohorilko’s departure in December

The Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission (IRGC) has appointed Tina Eick as the regulator’s permanent administrator following a special meeting on February 9.
A subcommittee of IRGC commissioners interviewed several candidates before deciding to appoint Eick on a permanent basis.
Eick had been serving as the regulator’s interim administrator since mid-December following the departure of Brian Ohorilko.
Ohorilko had been with the IRGC since 2003 and held the position of administrator since 2011.
Eick has been with the regulator since November 2016, when she joined as director of operations and deputy administrator.
Before her time with the regulator, Eick was an attorney for Hopkins & Huebner for 23 years, from July 1993 to October 2016.
On Eick being appointed permanently, IRGC chair Daryl Olsen said: “Tina has the full confidence of all five commissioners.
“She has an in depth understanding of state regulations that pertain to this industry, strong relationships with IRGC staff and other stakeholders, and conducts herself with the utmost integrity.”
Eick becomes the fourth permanent administrator at the IRGC since its inception in 1983.
