Unibet operator gains nine event wagering licenses to offer expanded betting in Grand Canyon State

Kindred Group and its retail partner Turf Paradise have been awarded nine limited event wagering operator (LEWO) licenses by the Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG).
The Unibet operator launched its retail sportsbook offering with Turf Paradise at the Paradise Casino in Yuma in January.
The nine new licenses mean that this can now be expanded to include event wagering at multiple Turf Paradise locations across the Grand Canyon State, a significant expansion of Kindred’s operations there.
These locations include Brookside II, Charley’s Sports Grill, Gallagher’s 16th, Gallagher’s Baseline, Harold’s, RT O’Sullivans, Boston’s Bar and Grille, and Midtown Tavern.
“Being awarded nine of the 10 LEWO licenses is a great outcome for Kindred, Turf Paradise, and our partners in the state,” Kindred Group SVP for North America, Manuel Stan, said.
“This is a great opportunity for Kindred Group to expand the Unibet brand in Arizona and build on the early success in the state.
“Over the next few months, we will work closely with our partners to prepare the launches in the different locations and are excited to be able to bring our best-in-class product to more customers in Arizona,” Stan added.
Kindred Group has previously committed to a two-year program of investment aimed at bringing its fledgling US operations back into profits after 2024.
The firm has also scaled back its large bonus offers to US customers, amid a period of fine-tuning.
In Kindred’s full-year 2021 results call, CEO Henrik Tjärnström admitted that the firm was looking to make “slow and steady” progress in the US rather than a fast and potentially costly expansion into the crowded US market.
