Meadowlands leads the market in first full month of NJ betting
FanDuel-powered sportsbook posts $1.4m in July revenues, ahead of Ocean Resorts Casino with $1m
The Meadowlands sportsbook operated by FanDuel group was the biggest single sports betting operator in New Jersey in July according to new figures from the DGE.
The book took in $1.4m in revenue for the month, ahead of the William Hill sportsbook at Ocean Resort Casino with $1m, then Monmouth Park with $856k, Borgata with $562k and Ballys AC with $18k.
The still-settling market looked to be bad news for Monmouth Park which saw revenue fall by more than 60% in July, despite having nearly twice as many days of operation.
The overall sports betting market was worth $3.8m in revenues, up from $1.2m for the first 17 days of sports betting operation in June.
On the online gaming side it was a record month for the Golden Nugget, which became the first operator to surpass $9m in online revenues in a calendar month.
The firm added more than $1m in revenues compared to June, reaching $9.3m. Borgata was a somewhat distinct second place in the market with $4.9m, ahead of Resorts ($3.9m), Caesars ($3.8m), and Tropicana ($3.5m)
Market newcomers Hard Rock and Ocean Resort came in at $330k and $250k.
Overall online gaming revenues came in at $25.9m, up 26% year-on-year, with casino up 30% to $24m and poker down 8% to $1.8m.
