Novig names ex-Meta head as chief marketing officer
Catherine Dougherty steps up after spell as head of growth marketing as firm makes second C-suite addition in as many months

Novig has named former Meta head Catherine Dougherty as the commission-free betting exchange’s new chief marketing officer (CMO).
Dougherty has served as Novig’s head of growth marketing since February 2023 when she joined the company from motoring giant BMW Group.
She worked across the marketing division during her time with BMW Group in New York between June 2021 and January 2023.
She also spent more than three years with Facebook parent company Meta in Singapore and Texas after joining the business as a graduate.
Dougherty’s appointment to Novig’s C-suite follows Dan Rosen’s promotion to COO in February following 13 months as the firm’s head of operations.
Jacob Fortinsky, Novig co-founder and CEO, said: “Catherine has done an exceptional job leading our marketing efforts in Colorado, and I’m so excited to see her step into this new role.”
Fortinsky and fellow Harvard alumnus Kelechi Ukah co-founded Novig back in 2021, with the operator only live in Colorado thus far.
The firm recently hit $1m in retail volume, with the brand operating as a traditional sportsbook as peer-to-peer betting exchanges are yet to be permitted in Colorado.
The strengthening of Novig’s C-suite comes after the firm secured $6.4m in seed funding last August.
