The deal will also see the site become the title sponsor of the $1.5m TwinSpires Breedersâ Cup Sprint, which will take place on October 31 at the Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky.
As the official betting partner of the Breedersâ Cup, TwinSpires will receive exposure through TV, digital, and print media, including commercial time on NBC and NBCSN telecasts of the races.
âThe Breeders Cup Championship races are amongst the best racing content on the planet and itâs a natural fit for us to be the official wagering partner,â Ian Williams, VP of marketing for TwinSpires, said.
Recently there has been an increase in online gaming operators striking horseracing sponsorship deals, including daily fantasy sports operator DraftKings partnering with the Belmont Stakes.
The news comes after Churchill Downs recently reported its H1 2015 financial numbers, with TwinSpires recording a 3% YoY in H1 revenues to $106m with EBITDA up 16% to $28m.
Earlier this year the operator confirmed it had secured its route into the California online poker market if and when legislation gets across the line through a deal with the Oceans 11 Casino and the Crystal Casino.
