William Hill US names new CMO
Former ESPN exec joins the operator to help push its post-PASPA expansion
William Hill US has named former NBC and ESPN executive Sharon Otterman as its new chief marketing officer (CMO).
Otteran joins from the Madison Square Garden Company where she served was CMO and oversaw marketing for the company’s venues business.
Previously she was CMO at NBC Universal, where she executed marketing for The Today Show and was previously vice president of marketing at ESPN.
“The popularity of sports betting has never been higher,” said Otterman. “I am thrilled to join William Hill, the international leader in this industry, to help serve an expanding, engaged customer base.”
William Hill has opened two sportsbooks in New Jersey since the market went live – at Monmouth Park race track and Ocean Resort Casino.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sharon to our rapidly-expanding team at William Hill, particularly during such an exciting time in our growth process,” said Joe Asher, Chief Executive Officer, William Hill US.
“Sharon is a proven leader and we are thrilled that we could pull her away from one of the most high-profile jobs in sports marketing to join William Hill.”
The William Hill sportsbook at Monmouth Park accounted for approximately two thirds of the state’s sportsbook revenues, according to the DGE.
