FSB to launch technology-led diversity recruitment programme
Sportsbook supplier to encourage underrepresented demographics into igaming industry through new project
FSB has partnered with igaming recruitment firm Rubik Talent to offer underrepresented students the chance to break into the sports betting technology industry.
The partnership will see FSB work closely with Rubik to build an engaging technology graduate programme which will see students get to grips with the likes of back-end and front-end development, as well as application support analysis.
An initial 10 applicants from diverse backgrounds will take part in a FSB-led assessment in July.
A final three students will be selected from the 10 in August and will be onboarded full-time into the FSB technology team for a two-year period.
During the contract, the students will develop skills and gain valuable experience with the company. FSB said it holds the option to offer the students a full-time contract at the end of the programme.
Sam Lawrence, FSB chief technology officer, said: “When Rubik first approached us about participating in this programme, we immediately saw the value in it.
“Giving young people from diverse backgrounds an opportunity is something we can wholeheartedly get behind as an organisation,” he added.
Robin MacDonald, Rubik managing partner, commented: “The igaming industry has a digital skills gap and investing in young people will help support the industry’s growth in the long term.
“Taking positive action to develop a diverse workforce and inclusive culture at the grassroots goes to the heart of what we are trying to achieve.”
